Career Pathways Preparation

At Lighthouse Academy - South, 9th grade students have the opportunity to explore a combined work-based curriculum of JAG and NAF which includes soft job skills, career exploration and exposure to different career pathways.

At the end of their 10th year, students may choose to attend Kent Career Technical Center and select one of their 29 programs with job training, or select from 5 different pathways offered through the Early Middle College in partnership with Ferris State University and Davenport University. 

 

Upon completion of 12th grade, students who have elected any of these pathways will have earned their High School diploma as well as college credits or an Associate Degree.

 

Kent Career Technical Center is operated by Kent ISD and all program instruction is held at their campus in Grand Rapids, MI. Transportation to and from these classes is provided.

The Early Middle College is a partnership between Ferris State University, Davenport University and Lighthouse Academy. The program offers students the ability to complete their High School Diploma while also earning collage credits or an Associate Degree. Currently, five pathways are offered including Medical Assisting, Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Dental Hygienist, Business Administration and Operations and Supply Chain Management.

Completion of these programs and pathways allow students to earn their High School Diploma, as well as job training, college credits, or an Associate Degree.
